There is no known harmful interaction between vitamin B12 (cobalamin) and vitamin B2 (riboflavin). In fact, these vitamins often work together to support your health.
Why this happens
Vitamin B12 and vitamin B2 are both water-soluble vitamins from the B-complex family. They do not interfere with each other's absorption, metabolism, or excretion. Instead, they have a synergistic relationship; vitamin B2 is actually required to help convert vitamin B12 into its active form so the body can use it properly.
What you should do
It is safe to take vitamin B12 and vitamin B2 together. They are frequently found combined in B-complex supplements or multivitamins. Always follow the dosage instructions on the product label or as advised by your healthcare professional.
Food and drink warnings
Alcohol
It is best to avoid or strictly limit alcohol while taking Vitamin B12. Regular or heavy alcohol consumption can interfere with the body's ability to absorb Vitamin B12 from the gut, making the supplement less effective. Combining alcohol with medications can also increase the risk of liver damage.
