Can I take Antibiotics and Paracetamol together?

Flucloxacillin can interfere with how the body processes a substance called glutathione. When paracetamol is also taken, it can lead to a buildup of an acid called 5-oxoproline in the blood.

It is generally safe to take paracetamol with most antibiotics. However, if you are prescribed flucloxacillin, inform your doctor if you have kidney issues or are feeling generally very unwell. If you develop deep, rapid breathing, confusion, or extreme tiredness while taking both, seek medical advice immediately.
