Why this happens
Avastin is a monoclonal antibody given by injection, while lansoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) taken orally to reduce stomach acid. Avastin is broken down by the body's immune system processes rather than the liver enzymes that process lansoprazole. Additionally, because Avastin is injected, its absorption is not affected by the changes in stomach acidity caused by lansoprazole.
