Why this happens

Amlodipine is a blood pressure medication that works by relaxing blood vessels, which can sometimes cause a drop in blood pressure when standing up. Lamotrigine is an anti-epileptic medication that affects the central nervous system. While they are processed by different pathways in the liver and do not interfere with each other's levels, their combined effect on your alertness or balance is a 'pharmacodynamic' consideration (how the drugs affect your body).

You can safely take these two medicines together. It is a good idea to see how they affect you before driving or operating machinery. If you feel dizzy, sit or lie down until the feeling passes, and try to get up slowly from a sitting or lying position. If you experience severe dizziness or fainting, contact your doctor.
