Can I take Amlodipine and Isorbide together?

Why this happens

Both amlodipine and isosorbide (a nitrate) work by relaxing and widening your blood vessels to improve blood flow. Because they both do this in different ways, their effects add together, which can lead to a more significant drop in blood pressure than taking either medicine alone.

It is usually safe to take these together if your doctor has prescribed them, but you should be careful. When starting this combination or changing your dose, get up slowly from a sitting or lying position to avoid dizziness. If you feel very dizzy, sit or lie down immediately. Contact your doctor if you feel constantly lightheaded or if you faint.
