Why this happens

These two medicines work in completely different ways and are processed by different systems in the body. Alendronic acid is a bisphosphonate used for bone strength, while nebivolol is a beta-blocker used for blood pressure or heart conditions. They do not interfere with each other's absorption or metabolism.

You can continue taking both medicines as prescribed. However, remember that alendronic acid must be taken on an empty stomach with a full glass of plain water, at least 30 minutes before your first food, drink, or other medicines (including nebivolol) of the day. You must also remain upright (sitting or standing) for at least 30 minutes after taking alendronic acid to prevent irritation to your food pipe (oesophagus).
