Taking Adizem (diltiazem) and gabapentin together can increase the risk of side effects such as extreme sleepiness, dizziness, and a feeling of being 'spaced out'. In some cases, it may also lead to increased swelling in the legs or ankles (oedema).

Both medications can slow down the central nervous system, leading to an additive sedative effect.
