Why this happens

Paracetamol is primarily broken down by the liver. Spermidine is a naturally occurring compound (polyamine) found in foods and supplements that is also processed by metabolic pathways in the body. Currently, there is no evidence that spermidine interferes with the enzymes that break down paracetamol or that paracetamol affects how the body uses spermidine.

It is generally considered safe to take these together at recommended doses. You should always follow the dosage instructions on the paracetamol packaging and never exceed 4000mg (eight 500mg tablets) in a 24-hour period. It is best to avoid or strictly limit alcohol when taking paracetamol, as combining them increases the risk of liver damage. If you have a history of liver or kidney disease, speak to your doctor or pharmacist before starting new supplements.
