Can I take Accrete d3 and Centrum silver together?

Drug interaction guide

Taking Accrete D3 and Centrum Silver together can lead to you having too much calcium and vitamin D in your body. This can cause high levels of calcium in your blood (hypercalcaemia), which may lead to symptoms like nausea, constipation, stomach pain, or, in more serious cases, kidney stones and heart rhythm problems.

Why this happens

Both products contain significant amounts of calcium and vitamin D3 (colecalciferol). Accrete D3 is a high-dose supplement (usually 1000mg calcium/800IU vitamin D), and Centrum Silver also contains these ingredients. Taking them together creates an 'additive effect', meaning the doses add up and may exceed the safe daily limit.

You should speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking these together. They may advise you to stop the multivitamin or switch to one without calcium and vitamin D. If you are advised to take both, watch out for signs of too much calcium, such as feeling unusually thirsty, needing to urinate more often, or feeling very tired.
