Why this happens

5-HTP increases serotonin levels in the brain. While prednisolone is a corticosteroid, some studies suggest steroids can influence how the body processes serotonin, potentially leading to an over-accumulation. Additionally, both substances can affect mood and irritate the lining of the digestive tract.

You should consult your doctor before taking 5-HTP with prednisolone. If your doctor approves the combination, watch closely for signs of too much serotonin, such as shivering, sweating, confusion, or a very fast heartbeat. If you experience these, seek medical help immediately.
