Oregano oil might also affect how your body processes sertraline, potentially leading to higher levels of the medication in your bloodstream. Additionally, both substances can affect blood sugar levels and blood clotting, which could be an issue if you have other health conditions.

Why this happens
Oregano oil may slow down the liver enzymes (specifically CYP2C19 and CYP3A4) that are responsible for breaking down sertraline. This can cause the medicine to build up in your system. Both substances also have mild effects on how platelets work in the blood and how the body manages glucose.
