Can I take 10 and Levodopa together?

Taking vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) can make levodopa much less effective at treating Parkinson's symptoms. This can cause your tremors, stiffness, and movement problems to return or get worse.

Why this happens

Vitamin B6 speeds up the process of levodopa breaking down in the body before it has a chance to reach the brain. If the medicine breaks down too early, it cannot work properly to manage your condition.

Do not take vitamin B6 supplements (including multivitamins containing B6) while taking levodopa unless specifically told to by your doctor. If you are taking a combination tablet that contains both levodopa and carbidopa (such as Sinemet), this interaction is less likely to be a problem, but you should still check with your pharmacist before starting any new supplements.
