About pregnancy
If you are trying for a baby or think you might be pregnant, you'll probably be on the watch for pregnancy signs. Small changes in the way you feel both physically and emotionally can be detected as early as a week after conception. Some women say they feel pregnant long before their changing hormone levels are picked up on a test.

Will it give me a definitive answer?
Torna ai contenutiThis quiz will not be able to confirm for certain whether or not you are pregnant - but it will help you to assess your current symptoms and recommend the next step to take. It will also help you to understand the different symptoms of early pregnancy and why they happen.
When might I have pregnancy symptoms?
Torna ai contenutiWhilst perhaps the most noticeable sign of la gravidanza is missing a period, there are many other symptoms that may be evident during the early weeks. Most women will have some form of sintomo di gravidanza. For many these will show up at around 6 weeks of pregnancy - or 4 weeks after conception. However, you may have symptoms as early as week 3 of pregnancy - 1 week after conception.

What if I've experienced bleeding?
Torna ai contenutiYou may be pregnant despite having what appears to be a period. This could be due to implantation of the embryo which usually occurs earlier than a missed period would. However, if you have an irregular cycle, it may come later. One way to tell if is if you have a much smaller amount of bleeding than you usually do and it may be pinkish in colour rather than red.
Bleeding can also be a sign of low hormone levels (low HCG), when periods continue throughout pregnancy - but this is very rare.
It's very important to be aware of the risk of gravidanza ectopica - a pregnancy which develops outside the womb. Symptoms of ectopic pregnancy to look out for include low tummy pain - usually on one side and vaginal bleeding. Sometimes they may include diarrhoea, feeling faint, and shoulder-tip pain. Always to seek medical help if there is any chance you may have an ectopic pregnancy.
What about contraception?
Torna ai contenutiIf you're sexually active and are of childbearing age, pregnancy is always a possibility, even if you are using contraccezione. Whilst contraception makes it less likely you will conceive - many forms of contraception are up to 99% effective - if you miss a period or are experiencing other symptoms, it may be that you are pregnant.
How do you know if you're pregnant?
Torna ai contenutiWhilst the only way to find out for sure is to take a pregnancy test from your pharmacist, this quiz will let you know the likelihood of pregnancy based on your current symptoms.

Can acupuncture help you get pregnant?
Acupuncture has been a mainstay of ancient Chinese medicine for centuries, and in the last few decades it has been used increasingly commonly alongside fertility treatment, like IVF, with the aim of boosting the chances of a successful outcome. Plenty of women have had acupuncture during a round of fertility treatment and fallen pregnant. But can this sometimes costly practice, dismissed by many in western medicine as quackery, really have any impact on a woman's chances of having a baby?
